Talks & visits to the bees

Discover the fascinating world of bees in person.

For school classes, groups and organisations: engaging, easy to follow and suited to each audience.

A close-up look at the world of bees.

I give an accessible introduction to bees and beekeeping, drawing on what I see and do as a beekeeper.

The group's age, existing knowledge, questions and available time shape what we explore in more detail. Each session develops into a conversation suited to the people taking part.

Depending on the setting, I can include objects to look at and practical insights. My aim is to spark curiosity and leave plenty of room for everyone's questions.

First-hand knowledge from everyday beekeeping.

At your venue, beside the hives, or over two sessions.

We will decide together which format works best, taking the group, season, weather, location and available time into account.

1A talk at your venue

I visit schools, clubs, organisations and other groups, adapting each session to its audience. We focus on an accessible introduction, experiences from beekeeping and participants' questions.

2A visit to the bees

By arrangement, school classes and other groups can also meet the bees at one of our apiaries. What is possible depends on the group size, weather, season and other practical details. We will agree the arrangements for a safe visit beforehand.

3Learn first, then meet the bees

The two formats work particularly well together for school classes. First, I visit the school to introduce the basics. On a second date, the class comes to meet the bees in the garden. The children can recognise what we discussed, make their own observations and explore further questions.

Every group is different.

I plan the language, level of detail and format around the people taking part, whether a school class, club, adult group or another organisation.

  • Content and duration agreed in advance
  • Time for your questions
  • A talk, conversation or guided apiary visit
  • A session planned around your group

Personally planned and agreed in advance.

A fee applies to talks and guided apiary visits.

My fee covers preparation and the session itself, and depends on the agreed scope and work involved. Travel expenses may also apply.

After your enquiry, we will discuss the audience, possible dates, venue and format. You will then receive a clear, individual quote; I do not publish fixed package prices.
